Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced commissioning engineer to lead Level 1–5 commissioning of data center systems and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. The role requires extensive travel and hands‑on testing across multiple sites in the United States.

Ideal candidates bring seven+ years in data center engineering or commissioning, a strong background in electrical/mechanical systems, and proficiency with MS Office. Travel, documentation, and training duties are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• Seven or more years of experience in data center engineering, commissioning, or project management.
• Background in building maintenance, CCTV and access control, network, and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Ability to travel to other data center locations as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level 1–5 commissioning of data center systems and subsystems.
• Oversee, document, and track commissioning activities.
• Test and validate connectivity, network infrastructure, security, and building systems.
• Serve as project manager and liaison to third‑party commissioning agents.
• Support construction and commissioning activities including nights and weekends as needed.
• Travel ~75% to other sites across the United States.
• Develop commissioning plans and test procedures.
• Witness equipment testing and validate sequences of operation.
• Create or review commissioning documentation and reports.
• Train end users and maintenance personnel on commissioned systems.
