Job summary

Google in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Data Center Engineer to advance the physical design and infrastructure of our data centers. You will define system-level architectures, analyze performance, and drive maintenance procedures in collaboration with facilities teams.

Responsibilities include ensuring cooling, electrical, and structural requirements meet project goals, supporting development of next-generation data center facilities, and communicating findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in civil/structural or site engineering.
• Experience with building design, coordination and construction.
• Experience implementing civil/structural engineering principles (grading/drainage, hydraulic modeling, sediment/erosion control, soil migration).

Responsibilities

• Define data center system-level, product architecture, and develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems.
• Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs/installations meet requirements (cooling, structural, operational).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field or equivalent

Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
