Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level Java applications and data platforms. You will provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and drive best practices in architecture, focusing on scalable data lakes, batch and streaming pipelines, and cloud-native strategies.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience building data lakes and data platforms.
• Deep knowledge of big data frameworks (Iceberg, Pinot, Hive/HDFS).
• Real-time streaming with Kafka/Flink in production.
• Cloud platforms and containers (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• 6+ years in data or software engineering, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Data Eng/IS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve architecture for enterprise data lake and analytics platform.
• Design and develop high-performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead and mentor data engineers; promote technical excellence and agile delivery.
• Build high-scale batch and streaming pipelines using Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, Pinot.
• Optimize storage and query performance across Delta Lake, Iceberg, Snowflake, Databricks environments.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Product Managers to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging data technologies to stay ahead.
