Job summary

Remitly, a global fintech company, seeks a Senior SDE to architect and scale the Trust Intelligence data infrastructure powering risk decisions and machine learning. You will lead high-throughput pipelines, guide data models, and collaborate with data science and risk teams to deploy ML features at scale.

Expect to mentor engineers, drive architectural standards, and influence cross-functional strategy while delivering robust, low-latency data solutions for fraud prevention at a global scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade, scalable data systems.
• Deep ability to design large-scale distributed systems and data warehousing concepts.
• Proficient with Python, Java, Scala, or Go and modern big data tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale distributed data systems and robust pipelines using Kafka and Spark for real-time and batch risk signals.
• Drive technical strategy for the risk data stack, decisions on DBs, storage patterns, streaming architecture, and cost-optimization on AWS.
• Lead the design of complex data models and feature delivery mechanisms for real-time decisioning and long-term analytics.
• Innovate data integrity by roadmap and feature anomaly/drift detection, ensuring global privacy standards.
• Partner with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Risk Leadership to build feature stores and enable rapid ML model deployment.
• Mentor mid-level/junior engineers, lead architecture reviews, set engineering standards, and foster technical excellence across the platform.
