Job summary

Talent Portus is seeking a senior Data Architect / Program Lead to design and govern large-scale cloud data environments. You will lead data engineering teams, implement Data Mesh, and ensure governance, privacy, and data quality across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on AWS data services, ETL pipelines, and collaboration with stakeholders to align architecture with business goals, while supporting ongoing operations and training.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture.
• Experience designing large-scale data lakes, data warehouses, and Data Mesh architectures.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services: S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda.
• Experience with ETL pipeline design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Data Mesh architecture and data products.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, lineage, access controls, privacy, and catalogs.
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and Data Mesh frameworks.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure using AWS and other cloud technologies.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and Lambda.
• Develop and support domain-specific data products aligned with data architecture and governance standards.
• Establish and enforce data governance, privacy, access control, lineage, and data quality practices.
• Maintain data catalogs and automate governance workflows to improve data integrity and discoverability.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing support of Data Mesh architecture.
• Ensure availability, reliability, and operational support of data platforms.
• Promote Data Mesh principles and provide technical training to data stewards and users.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to align data architecture with organizational goals.
• Lead and mentor data engineering teams and support successful project execution.
• Work within Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Jira, and Confluence.
