Talent Portus is seeking a senior Data Architect / Program Lead to design and govern large-scale cloud data environments. You will lead data engineering teams, implement Data Mesh, and ensure governance, privacy, and data quality across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on AWS data services, ETL pipelines, and collaboration with stakeholders to align architecture with business goals, while supporting ongoing operations and training.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture.
• Experience designing large-scale data lakes, data warehouses, and Data Mesh architectures.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services: S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda.
• Experience with ETL pipeline design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Data Mesh architecture and data products.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, lineage, access controls, privacy, and catalogs.
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in AWS data architecture, Data Mesh, data governance, ETL, and cloud-based data platforms, along with experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams.

Candidates must be able to support occasional onsite requirements in Clarksburg, WV, including equipment pickup and in-person meetings when needed.

Candidate Profile

We are specifically looking for senior candidates with stable project histories and meaningful long-term engagements. Candidates with 1.5 2+ year project durations and genuine hands‑on Data Architecture, AWS, Data Mesh, and leadership experience are strongly preferred.

Candidates should be able to clearly explain their technical contributions and project experience during the interview.
