Job summary

Top tier for to the DOD is seeking a Data Architect for a remote, multi-year DoD contract. The role demands hands-on architecture of enterprise data, analytics, and applications across Army Vantage and Palantir Foundry.

You will design data models with Kimball, build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and Delta Lake, lead engineers, and ensure governed data in a fast-paced, security‑critical environment with active secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, with an active secret DoD security clearance (ability to attain interim will be considered).
• College degree (B.S., M.S.) in Information Assurance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience in data architecture, data engineering, software engineering, analytics, or AI/ML.
• Demonstrated experience as a hands‑on architect or technical lead who has personally designed, implemented, deployed, and supported production enterprise data and AI systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced DoD environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture and hands‑on implementation of enterprise data, analytics, and applications in Army Vantage/Palantir Foundry.
• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Kimball dimensional modeling, Databricks Lakehouse/Medallion patterns, semantic layers, and Foundry Ontology.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and governed data layers using Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, Foundry Code Repositories, Pipeline Builder, Databricks, and Delta Lake.
• Design and implement Foundry Ontologies containing governed objects, links, Actions, Functions, KPIs, and access controls.
• Design and build production Workshop applications, JavaScript and TypeScript Functions, custom widgets, and OSDK integrations.
• Develop, refine, and maintain data cleansing pipelines in Palantir Foundry, ensuring authoritative, accurate, and standardized data across layers.
• Implement validation, de-duplication, formatting, and business rules within Foundry components to guarantee quality data for analytics.
• Lead engineers while developing critical components, reviewing code, resolving blockers, and maintaining architectural alignment.
