Job summary

Cooley AI, the innovation arm of the leading tech law firm, seeks a Senior Data Architect to own canonical data models and lead DV 2.0 governance. You will architect non-financial data domains, define hub/link/satellite standards, and guide DV-driven data pipelines and AI features.

You will partner with SMEs across Intelligence & Client Services to ensure accurate domain coverage, while mentoring engineers and aligning the data platform with the firm's AI readiness goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data architecture experience with canonical data model design and Data Vault 2.0 implementation
• Deep Data Vault 2.0 expertise including Raw Vault and Business Vault patterns
• Hands-on experience with Databricks - Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL
• Advanced SQL proficiency and dbt for transformation layer review
• Experience training engineers in Data Vault and data modeling methodologies
• Strong cross-functional architectural authority across teams

Responsibilities

• Own canonical data model across non-financial data domains (client, matter, timekeeper, firm, practice group) and enforce standards
• Lead Data Vault 2.0 governance to guide DV hub/link/satellite designs and pattern implementations
• Define integration between Raw Vault, Silver Layer, and Gold Layer models and semantic layers
• Collaborate with SMEs to extract domain knowledge into canonical model definitions
• Develop architectural decision records, pattern libraries, and implementation guides
• Mentor Data Engineering team and ensure DV pattern compliance in pipelines
