iSuite L.L.C. is seeking a qualified professional to join our Business Technology team. iSuite is a business support services organization formed in 2023. The organization provides business development and pursuit, estimating, safety, accounting, human resources, information technology, marketing, and training services to clients within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (A/E/C) industry.
This shared-services company supports the IMI business units and provides a uniform, employee-based culture founded on our Support the Build mentality. This mentality aligns with our employee-owned company so that all personnel take an owner’s mindset approach to our business. iSuite is headquartered in Nashville, TN and has branches in Granite City, IL, Chesterfield, MO and Charlotte, NC.
We are currently looking for a Senior Data Architect to join our Business Technology team located at our headquarters in Granite City, IL. Our ideal candidate for a Senior Data Architect is someone who has 8+years of experience and isa data leader who can carry both the strategy and the hands-on work needed to be successful in this role.
Translate the data strategy into a working data platform.
Define and own the datasets: schema, grain, ownership, freshness SLAs, and quality contracts for each priority domain.
Close open technical decisions delegated by the Chief Technical Architect and document the rationale.
Certify that datasets and pipelines conform to the architecture standards before they reach production.
Personally build and maintain priority ingestion and transformation.
Design the Standard -> Curated modeling and semantic-layer definitions that feed BI and agentic consumption.
Set the engineering bar through code — reviews, pairing, and direct contribution — not just standards documents.
Hire, coach, and manage the data engineering and analytics engineering function.
Set the standards the team builds to: idempotency, schema-drift handling, testing, code review, and documentation.
Own the roadmap and prioritization for pipeline and dataset work, balancing new ingestion against reliability and governance debt.
Partner with the Director of Cloud Operations on the DataOps tooling, CI/CD, and monitoring their team provides — the Director of Data is the primary customer and requirements-setter for that tooling, not its operator.
Partner with the Chief Technical Architect on architecture alignment, BigQuery governance, and how the data layer feeds agentic and AI workloads.
Partner with business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Estimating to define dataset meaning and resolve contested definitions.
8+ years in data engineering, including several years leading a data engineering or analytics engineering team.
Deep hands-on experience building production data pipelines on Google Cloud: BigQuery, Datastream, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and Dataform or dbt.
Strong SQL and dimensional / analytics.
Experience with CDC and API-based ingestion from enterprise sources, and a habit of building idempotent, restartable, well-tested pipelines.
A track record of setting data engineering standards a team builds to, while staying hands-on in the code.
Experience owning datasets consumed by a semantic / BI layer.
Background in construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering services, or with systems like Vista, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Salesforce, or Primavera P6.
Experience partnering with a separate cloud operations / SRE function rather than owning infrastructure end-to-end.
