Curaleaf seeks a Principal Data & Analytics Engineer to lead the architecture of our data and analytics platform. This senior IC role spans Snowflake, dbt, Omni, Hex, and related services, with collaboration across data engineering, BI, data science, governance, and product teams.

You will define standards, mentor engineers, and translate business needs into scalable pipelines and reusable data products. Massachusetts Hiring Range: $145,000–$160,000 USD.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Platforms, or related field.
• Senior technical lead or architect with cross-team influence.
• Strong Snowflake expertise in data architecture, performance, security, and cost optimization.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data engineering, automation, or analytics workflows.
• Experience with dbt or similar SQL-first transformation frameworks.
• Experience designing modern analytical data models (staging, conformed dims, facts, marts).
• Knowledge of ingestion, ELT, orchestration, data quality, lineage, and production support.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, and code reviews.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs and technical concepts to business and exec audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture across source ingestion, Snowflake, dbt, Omni, Hex, and related data services.
• Translate business strategy into scalable technical roadmaps and platform capabilities.
• Set technology boundaries for ingestion, transformation, semantic, reporting, and analytics layers.
• Architect secure, scalable Snowflake environments for data products, BI, and data science.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists to design data products.
• Lead implementation of standards for SQL, Python, dbt, pipelines, and version control.
• Advance CI/CD, automated testing, and release management across the data lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical alignment without direct people management authority.
• Communicate architecture, risk, and investment needs to stakeholders.
