Job summary

Dow Jones Energy is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support business performance, revenue management, customer analytics, and executive decision-making across energy, chemicals, metals, renewables, and related sectors.

You will develop reporting, dashboards, analytical models, and actionable insights using Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Looker Studio, and BI tools, partnering with Product, Sales, Finance, and leadership teams to drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' professional experience in data analytics or related analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, and data manipulation.
• Experience with Python for data analysis/automation.
• Experience with cloud/data warehouse platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, SQL Server, or Athena.
• Experience with BI platforms like Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reporting for the Book of Business (ACV, renewals, new business, win/loss).
• Build bottoms-up financial models, scenario analyses, and churn diagnostics to drive pricing, budgeting, and retention strategies.
• Query, transform, and aggregate complex datasets across multiple source systems using optimized SQL.
• Design and maintain scalable Power BI/Looker Studio dashboards for product performance, sales activity, customer health, and KPIs.
• Automate recurring workflows using SQL, Python, Excel/VBA, and Power Query, and explore AI solutions to scale analytics.
• Synthesize product adoption and usage data into customer health scores to aid Sales and Account Management.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Product, and leadership to communicate methodologies and prioritize analyses.
