Job summary

Dow Jones & Co. in Houston seeks a Senior Data Analyst to support commercial product management across energy markets. You will combine Excel, SQL, Python, and BI tools to deliver reporting, dashboards, and analytical models that inform pricing, revenue, and portfolio decisions.

You will partner with Product, Sales, Finance, and leadership to translate complex data into actionable insights, automate recurring processes, and drive data governance while exploring AI-driven analytics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, commercial analytics, financial analysis, market research, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Power Query.
• Experience with Python (Pandas) and BI platforms such as Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Experience with B2B data/information, industry analysis, and/or applied software products is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reporting for the Book of Business (ACV, renewals, new business, win/loss) and build financial models and churn diagnostics.
• Query, transform, and aggregate complex datasets across multiple sources using optimized SQL.
• Establish data quality, governance, and validation processes for core metrics.
• Design and maintain scalable dashboards (Power BI/Looker Studio) delivering visibility into product performance and financial KPIs.
• Automate recurring analytics workflows using SQL, Python, Excel/VBA, and Power Query; explore AI solutions to scale self-service analytics.
• Synthesize product usage data into customer health metrics to support Sales and Account Management teams.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and leadership to guide business decisions and portfolio strategy.
