Job summary

K.L. Scott & Associates, a mission-driven management and technology consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a federal client in Washington, DC.

The role focuses on extracting data from multiple sources, building trusted datasets, developing SQL queries, and delivering complex analyses, dashboards, and visualizations for leadership. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of data analytics experience, strong Python, SQL, and BI skills, and can mentor junior analysts while leading

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, BI, or related analytical role.
• 3+ years of Python libraries (pandas, dataframes, matplotlib, numpy).
• 3+ years of writing complex DAX and M-language formulas.
• At least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience in statistical modeling and forecasting (linear/logistic/time series).
• Experience automating workflows and ETL processes.
• Hands-on data extraction from multiple sources and dataset development for dashboards/reports.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, transformation, and reporting.
• Experience building dashboards/visualizations in Tableau and Power BI.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex data analysis to identify trends, risks, and actionable insights for leadership decisions.
• Extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources to build reliable datasets for reporting.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and data logic for dashboards and reports.
• Use Python for ETL processes, data cleansing, and preparation for analysis.
• Design data models and datasets to support scalable reporting.
• Create dashboards and visuals in Power BI and Tableau to drive decisions.
• Mentor junior analysts and lead small project teams; coordinate workstreams.
