Job summary

Onos Health in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to translate health plan data into actionable reporting, analyses, and insights for customers. You’ll work with claims, authorization, eligibility, and clinical data to build dashboards showing utilization trends, provider variation, and program impact.

You will own analyses end to end, collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Customer teams, and turn recurring analyses into standard platform reports, bringing rigorous data quality

Qualifications

• 4+ years in healthcare analytics or related analytical role.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare claims data; authorization/eligibility/clinical data a plus.
• Strong SQL skills, Python for data analysis, and ability to independently answer complex questions.
• Experience building dashboards and reports in a BI or notebook tool.
• Solid understanding of descriptive statistics and healthcare metrics (e.g., PMPM, utilization, cost per member).
• Careful about data quality, with a habit of checking results before sharing them.
• Ability to explain analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.
• Healthcare payer/provider/health tech experience preferred; behavioral health a plus.
• Exceptional references from colleagues and former managers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer-facing reports and dashboards covering utilization, cost, provider performance, and program outcomes.
• Run analyses answering customer questions about spend concentration, outliers, and program impact on utilization.
• Prepare data and ROI analyses, and verify results against methodologies.
• Present findings to analytics and operations teams at health plans.
• Explore and analyze structured data feeds (claims, authorizations, eligibility, clinical data) for key insights.
• Investigate data quality issues with Engineering and customer teams to ensure accurate reporting.
• Partner with Data Engineering to define data requirements for downstream analytics workflows.
• Build checks that catch data issues before they reach customer reporting.
• Turn recurring analyses into standard metrics and reports in the platform.
• Define metric logic and business rules for consistency across reports.
• Provide Product, Engineering, and Data Science feedback on customer requests and gaps.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, and Customer Success on engagements.
• Be a go-to resource on how customers’ data is structured and what it can support.
