Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or Data/Business Analytics.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst.
  • SQL proficiency with 6+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for quick reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments such as Snowflake and AWS.
  • Significant experience creating BI reports using Tableau, Mixpanel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Avail stakeholders to understand needs and translate into analytical problems.
  • Identify data sources and build analytical data layers with data engineering.
  • Perform end-to-end data analysis from collection to insights and recommendations.
  • Own KPI development, measurement, and reporting; monitor KPIs and surface opportunities.
  • Produce regular business performance reporting for reviews and analyses.
  • Build automated reports and dashboards using Tableau, Mixpanel, Power BI.
  • Promote self-service data access to speed up decision-making.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis using internal and external data sources.
  • Support strategic initiatives with analytical modeling and forecasting.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst with a strong background in business intelligence and strategic analytics to help shape the future of Avail. As a trusted partner to the Avail leadership team, you will be the vital link between complex data and pivotal business moves, striving to enable and empower data-driven decision making across the business.

In this role, you will analyze large and complex data sets, define and track business KPIs, build automated reporting solutions, conduct robust analyses, generate actionable insights, and deliver clear recommendations that inform critical decisions across strategy, product, marketing, and operations.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented analytics expert, a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, and a team player who excels in cross-functional collaborations, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and driven by a desire to make things better.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with Avail business stakeholders to understand/clarify needs and requirements, and translate them into analytical problems.
  • If the required data is not available, work with the team to identify the right data sources, and build analytical data layers in collaboration with the data engineering partner.
  • Independently conduct end-to-end data analytical work from data collection, ETL, analysis, to the delivery of insights and recommendations.
  • Serve as Avail's Business Intelligence expert and own KPI development, measurement, tracking, and reporting. Closely monitor KPIs and carry out deep-dive analysis to explain changes and trends, and surface areas of opportunities.
  • Own and run regular business performance reporting, and actively contribute analytics-related content to business reviews and other reports.
  • Build automated reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Mixpanel, etc.
  • Build and grow adoption of self-service solutions that empower stakeholders to access data and insights, and hence accelerate data-driven decision making.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis using a variety of internal and external data sources.
  • Work with Avail leadership team on strategic initiatives and planning, providing analytical support on financial modeling, forecast, opportunity sizing, and so on.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a quantitative field or Data/Business Analytics.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • SQL proficiency is a must, with 6+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for quick reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Strong capability to work with complex data sets and perform EDA, descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analyses.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments such as Snowflake and AWS.
  • Significant experience creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Mixpanel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Proven experience using data and analytics to drive revenue and other business KPIs, and doing so in a proactive manner by actively seeking to identify opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse technical and business audiences at different levels.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional partners.
