Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Vice President Data Analyst within Asset Management to lead the alternatives data domain.

You will define data definitions, build the private markets data model, and develop a semantic layer to enable client reporting and AI-ready data usage. Collaborate with engineering and external partners to onboard feeds, ensure data quality, and drive scalable data solutions across the Private Markets platform.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data-focused roles within financial services or similar complex data environments.
• Deep knowledge of private markets or alternatives data domains.
• Experience as primary data expert for a business area or dataset, with ownership of definitions and documentation.
• Strong hands-on analytical skills using SQL or equivalent tooling.
• Ability to translate business needs into data requirements for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Alternatives data SME for the Private Markets domain, defining data element meanings and origins.
• Build out the Private Markets data model with engineering and architecture partners.
• Develop and maintain the semantic layer over the data model and standardized definitions.
• Expand datasets to capture business-critical attributes and downstream consumption.
• Collaborate with engineering in an agile framework to plan, map, and validate data requirements.
• Onboard external data feeds from vendors, fund administrators, custodians, and partners.
• Ensure governance and data strategy alignment with the Chief Data Office.
• Translate reporting requirements into data requirements and validate outputs.
• Own data issue management and root-cause remediation across teams.
• Support migration to Systems of Record and validate cutovers.
• Profile and analyze data to test hypotheses and inform prioritization.
• Maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata entries.
