J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management’s Private Markets Data Products team in New York, NY (onsite), seeks a Data Analyst to power private markets reporting with data products built for real-world use.

In this role, you’ll serve as an alternatives data subject-matter expert, helping shape the data model and semantic layer while expanding datasets and ensuring accurate delivery to systems of record.

Qualifications

• Extensive data-focused experience in financial services or complex data environments.
• Deep knowledge of private markets or alternatives data.
• Experience owning data definitions and documentation for a business area.
• Strong hands-on analytical skills with SQL or equivalent tools.
• Experience translating business needs into data requirements and mappings.
• Strong ownership for data quality and root-cause analysis.
• Clear written communication documenting definitions and decisions.
• Collaborative across business, ops, tech, and external partners.
• Comfort with greenfield work and ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary reference for what Alternatives data elements mean and their sources.
• Develop and evolve the Private Markets data model with engineering partners.
• Create and maintain a semantic layer with standardized definitions and metrics.
• Expand datasets with critical attributes and coverage.
• Shape epics and stories in JIRA; participate in UAT and testing.
• Onboard external data sources in a scalable way.
• Partner with the Chief Data Office on governance and strategy.
• Translate reporting requirements into data requirements for delivery.
• Own data issue management and drive to root cause and fixes.
• Ensure delivery to Systems of Record and migrate from legacy sources.
• Profile and analyze data to test hypotheses and size gaps.
• Maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata.
