Job summary

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Vice President Data Analyst in Asset Management to serve as the Alternatives data expert for Private Markets. You will help build the data model and a semantic layer to standardize definitions and enable accurate reporting and AI-ready data.

You will partner with engineering, governance, and business teams to expand datasets, ensure data quality, lineage, and mappings to Systems of Record, and drive scalable data delivery across the platform.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data-focused roles such as data analysis, data management, data operations, or business and data product analysis.
• Deep, practical knowledge of private markets or alternatives data and the businesses that produce it.
• Experience acting as the primary data expert for a business area or dataset, owning its definitions and documentation.
• Strong hands-on analytical skills, comfortable profiling, reconciling, and investigating data using SQL or equivalent tooling.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Alternatives data subject-matter expert for the Private Markets domain, defining data element meaning and origin.
• Build out the Private Markets data model alongside engineering and architecture partners, defining entities, attributes, relationships, grain, and lineage.
• Develop and maintain the semantic layer over the data model with standardized definitions and derived metrics.
• Expand Alternatives datasets to capture business-critical attributes and downstream value.
• Collaborate with engineering in an agile framework to plan and deliver work, author data requirements and mappings, and participate in UAT.
• Connect vendors, fund administrators, custodians, general partners, and other sources into the platform with repeatable onboarding.
• Align with the Chief Data Office on data governance, quality standards, documentation, and enterprise data priorities.
• Translate reporting requirements into data requirements and validate outputs against expectations.
• Own data issue management, triage, root-cause analyses, and remediation with source and platform teams.
• Support migration to Systems of Record, mapping, reconciliation, and cutover validation.
• Profile and analyze data to test hypotheses, size gaps, and quantify impact for prioritization.
• Maintain data dictionaries, glossary entries, data quality rules, lineage, and catalog metadata.
