Job summary

Hoffman Construction Company is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join the expanding Data team. You will gather, analyze, and translate complex data from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights to support project outcomes.

You will develop reports and dashboards using Power BI, Smartsheet, and Excel, and apply sanctioned AI tools to assist DAX coding. The role reports to the Data Manager and requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability

Qualifications

Proficient in Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet and other data analytic tools.
Strong data analysis skills: cleansing, visualization, stats, dashboarding and reporting.
Proficient in data (semantic) modeling techniques.
Experience with DAX and Smartsheet programming languages.
Statistical analysis experience using Excel, Power BI, R or Python.
Python programming for automations, especially with Power BI.
Knowledge of Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot).
Ability to synthesize disparate data sources to drive operational efficiencies.
Ability to communicate complex information to varied audiences.
Technical writing experience for queries, reports, presentations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and data flow architectures is beneficial.
Understanding of basic software development environments (Dev/Test/Prod).
Awareness of data security concepts is beneficial.
Construction industry experience is beneficial.
Familiarity with Procore is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project teams to align analytic needs with project priorities and data sources.
Develop and enhance reports and dashboards using Power BI, Smartsheet, Excel and related tools.
Create data analytics tools to promote predictability and efficiency for projects and corporate entities.
Build semantic models to support reporting and AI initiatives.
Aggregate and analyze data from diverse sources to deliver actionable insights.
Identify data inconsistencies, determine root causes, and rectify issues.
Deliver weekly and monthly reports to executives and stakeholders.
Serve as data, reporting and analytics subject matter expert and stay current with trends.
Educate cross-functional teams on using analytics tools to meet project goals.
Lead cross-department collaboration to develop data products and define success metrics.
Automate data collection and reporting processes for timely updates.
