Job summary

SCAN Health Plan in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Data Analyst to design and maintain data-driven solutions supporting operations and strategy. You will transform healthcare claims data into actionable insights, create executive dashboards, and collaborate with leaders to define metrics and governance.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled analytics, storytelling through data, and leadership in analytics initiatives, with responsibilities across Enrollment, Claims, and Provider Management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Healthcare Analytics, Claims Analytics, Payor, or Health Plan Operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Snowflake and Python.
• Experience working with QNXT claims administration systems.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with Streamlit and AI-powered analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise dashboards, reporting solutions, semantic data models, AI-enabled applications, and analytical products using Power BI, AI technologies, Snowflake, and other BI platforms.
• Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders across Enrollment, Grievances & Appeals, Claims Operations, Provider Data Management, and more to align objectives with regulatory requirements and performance goals.
• Lead business process discovery and design sessions; document current and future state workflows and user needs.
• Convert business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for analytics and automation solutions.
• Define, standardize, and govern enterprise metrics, KPI definitions, and data governance standards for consistent reporting.
• Develop semantic data layers and governed reporting structures to enable scalable BI and AI capabilities.
• Analyze healthcare claims and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; drive measurable outcomes.
• Build data pipelines, data integrations, and analytical processes with SQL, Python, Snowflake improving data quality and performance.
• Create executive dashboards and data stories that connect strategy, KPIs, and frontline performance for data-driven decisions.
• Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, driving adoption and accountability across the organization.
