Unity Hospice is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to build and support reporting and analytics capabilities that translate clinical, financial, and operational information into dashboards, reports, and actionable insights. The role also supports analytics platform development, data governance, and cross-team collaboration to strengthen patient care and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing support of Unity’s reporting and analytics platform.
- Partner with leaders and teams to understand data and reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Write SQL queries and work with databases to extract, organize, and analyze data.
- Support data interfaces and data flows between internal and external systems.
- Assist in maintaining data accuracy, completeness, security, and reliability.
- Support data governance initiatives, including data standards, access, and quality.
- Collaborate with vendor partners and internal teams to troubleshoot and improve data systems.
- Analyze clinical, financial, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
- Use data to support leadership decision-making related to patient care, quality, and operational performance.
- Explore the use of AI and other emerging technologies to enhance analytics and reporting.
- Develop training and resources to help employees use reporting and analytics tools effectively.
- Present data and findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Lead and manage analytics projects from planning through completion.
- Build strong working relationships with leaders and teams across Unity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with corporate analytics systems (data interfaces, databases, analytics, dashboards, and reporting) supporting company-wide information systems initiatives.
- Healthcare information systems and technology experience would be helpful, including experience with Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using analytics and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to support analytics needs.
- Direct experience working in healthcare information systems and technology environments.
- Practical experience navigating EHR software platforms, with a strong preference for Epic system architecture.
- Strong proficiency in SQL query writing, data extraction tools, and ETL processes.
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) designation.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst or Tableau Certified Data Analyst credentials.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and database management.
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and designing dashboards for stakeholders.
- Strong application of statistical methods, analytical techniques, and predictive modeling.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel for rapid data cleaning and ad-hoc exploration.
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and data privacy standards.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure.
- Ability to comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Satisfaction of mandatory training requirements related to local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity policies and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
