Job summary

Workiva Inc. is seeking a Staff Data and AI Platform Engineer to own design, reliability, security, and cost efficiency of the Enterprise data platform. You’ll enable domain teams to build and operate dbt Mesh projects safely at scale and set architectural direction for data initiatives.

You’ll align stakeholders across Data Engineering, Analytics, AI Platform, Security, and Data Ops, shaping a multi-year roadmap and guiding buy/build/adopt decisions with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in data/platform engineering with 3+ years Snowflake ops at enterprise scale.
• Ability to balance standardization, domain autonomy, cost and security.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year data platform architecture vision and roadmap.
• Own Snowflake platform standards, RBAC, and integration with data cataloging tools.
• Design AI data infrastructure for LLM workflows and agentic data access.
• Partner on security, governance, and cost with cross-functional teams.
• Enable multi-model data consumption with guardrails for domain teams.
