Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Staff Data and AI Platform Engineer to own and govern the enterprise data platform, setting architecture, security, and cost efficiency for Snowflake, dbt Mesh, and AI data flows.

You will drive platform strategy, align cross-functional teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and mentor engineers while shaping a multi-year roadmap for scalable, compliant data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• 8+ years in data or platform engineering, including 3+ years owning Snowflake account/platform operations at enterprise scale
• Demonstrated architectural judgment balancing standardization, domain autonomy, cost, security, performance, and buy/build/adopt decisions at enterprise scale

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year data platform architecture vision and roadmap; present tradeoffs to DnA and engineering leadership
• Own RBAC permission model and Snowflake account infrastructure
• Design and evolve dbt Mesh and data mesh boundaries across business domains
• Define integration standards for orchestration (Airflow) and data sharing
• Partner with GRC and Security on FedRAMP boundary controls and security reviews
