Job summary

Workiva Inc. is seeking a Staff Data and AI Platform Engineer to act as the technical authority for the Enterprise data platform, owning the design, reliability, security, and cost efficiency of account-level infrastructure while enabling domain teams to safely scale dbt Mesh projects.

You will shape multi-year roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, mentor engineers, define RBAC and Snowflake standards, and integrate with tools like Atlan, Airflow and Fivetran to support governance and cost

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data or platform engineering, incl. Snowflake ops at enterprise scale.
• Experience owning platform standards, RBAC, security, and cost controls.
• Ability to drive architecture decisions and align across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year data platform architecture vision and roadmap.
• Own Snowflake account infrastructure, RBAC, and environment promotion patterns.
• Design AI data infrastructure for LLM workflows and agentized platforms.
• Mentor engineers, enforce standards, review designs, and promote platform competency.
• Collaborate with GRC, Security, Data Ops, and business partners.
