Job summary

Omni Federal is seeking a Senior Data / AI Engineer for a remote role with periodic travel to Ft. Belvoir. The candidate will design and maintain multimodal data pipelines, apply ML/NLP techniques, and support secure DoD data environments. A DoD Secret clearance is required.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Polaris and the Digital Roadmap Tool, develop end-to-end data solutions, and contribute to Agile delivery of prototype capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years hands-on data engineering and/or AI/ML development.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data pipeline development, ETL, and workflow automation.
• Experience building multimodal data ingestion pipelines (text, imagery, audio, transcripts).

Responsibilities

• Maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance while supporting secure Government environments.
• Design, build, and maintain multimodal data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop data pipelines for text, imagery, audio, transcripts.
• Develop and implement automated tagging, metadata management, and data correlation.
• Apply ML and NLP techniques for classification, trend detection, and transcription.
• Develop and tune AI/ML-enabled capabilities for analysis and decision-making.
• Support integration between Project Polaris and the Digital Roadmap Tool (DRT).
• Contribute to iterative Agile development and MVP delivery.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architect, Product Owner, and Cybersecurity/RMF Specialist.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation (CDRL A005).
• Leverage Python and SQL to develop ETL processes and workflows.
