Job summary

RLI Corp, a leading specialty insurer, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable data solutions across ingestion, transformation, and distribution.

You will partner with analytics and product teams to translate business needs into reliable data products, while embracing AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery.

This role requires 4+ years of experience, a strong SQL/Python background, and a collaborative, agile mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and distribution.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure data reliability, quality, and accessibility across systems and data products, including monitoring SLAs where appropriate.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and system issues, including root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with other engineers through design collaboration and code reviews.
