Job summary

Balt is seeking a Sr Data & AI Engineer for an on-site role in Irvine, CA. You will architect and optimize data solutions, explore AI use cases, and partner with business teams to deploy data-driven insights.

The role emphasizes building scalable data platforms, governance, and practical AI enablement within Balt's Snowflake and Tableau environment. 1-2 international trips may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience with Snowflake and Talend Cloud.
• 5+ years of development experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• 5+ years of expert-level SQL skills.
• Experience with Openflow and Python.
• Curiosity about and some exposure to AI/ML or GenAI tools (e.g., experimenting with LLMs, Copilot-style tools, or Snowflake Cortex).

Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Processing: Gather requirements from various departments and identify data sources; plan scalable US-focused architecture.
• Data Quality and Governance: Define and implement data management strategy; promote to internal US customers; manage data lifecycle and automate cleansing.
• AI Exploration & Enablement: Identify practical AI opportunities; pilot tools within Snowflake/Tableau ecosystem; structure data for AI readiness.
• Daily-Run Activities: Maintain data environment (ETL, Data Lake, MDM); write specs; present status to IT team and stakeholders.
