Job summary

Secretariat in Denver seeks an Associate for the Business Damages and Valuation team to join a growing international practice. You will conduct economic, financial, and industry research, analyze data, and help prepare expert reports on damages and forensic accounting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in accounting/finance/economics, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and either CPA/CFF/CFA/CFE/ABV or pursuing credentials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar.
  • 2–4 years of experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting.
  • Big Four experience is a plus.
  • CPA/CFF/CFA/CFE/ABV credentials are a plus.
  • Able to develop creative approaches to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic, financial, accounting, and industry research.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial information, and summarize and report findings to team members and clients.
  • Assist with the preparation of expert reports (damages, forensic accounting, and construction quantum reports).
  • Assist with the preparation of rebuttal expert reports.
  • Communicate with clients and counsel.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations.
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements.
  • Review work of junior level staff.
