Job summary

Secretariat in Denver is seeking associates to join a growing damages and valuation team that handles domestic and international matters. You will work on misappropriations of assets, post-acquisition disputes, forensics, and a mix of complex cases requiring finance, accounting, economics, and legal insight.

Responsibilities include researching, analyzing data, preparing expert reports, and communicating with clients and counsel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
  • 1+ years of experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting
  • Big Four experience would be an asset
  • Pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, or ABV credentials is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic, financial, accounting, and industry research
  • Analyze financial and non-financial information, and summarize and report findings
  • Assist with the preparation of expert reports (damages, forensic accounting, construction quantum)
  • Assist with the preparation of rebuttal expert reports
  • Communicate with clients and counsel
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
