Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation is seeking a data systems professional to plan, develop, analyze, and implement highly complex data processing procedures. You will apply programming techniques and business process knowledge to evaluate requests for new or modified programs, systems, or databases.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Management Information Systems, or other degrees can be considered +5 years of relevant work experience; OR 9 years minimum related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5 years experience in data analysis
• 5 years experience with SQL or other relational database systems tools
• 5 years experience in solution development and programming
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
• Planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Recommend other possible data sources, ways to visualize and validate data
• Use advanced objects such as stored procedures / user defined functions / production processes (automation)
• Data & Business Process SME in LOB or Topic; Tool expertise for solution
• Performance and security insights of data technology
• Advanced experience in iterative application development
• Develop, recommend, evaluate and/or approve specifications for databases, solutions, and reports.
• Champion verification/validation of databases, program results and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Intermediate abilities on data tech (BI, DB Platforms, or other type data toolsets)

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, analyze and implement very complex data processing procedures.
• Evaluate requests for new or modified programs, systems or databases.
• Determine feasibility, resource requirements, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities.
• Detect and correct program errors, test, enhance, maintain and document coded instructions.
• Consult with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required.
