Direct Counsel, a leading Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C., seeks a Cybersecurity & Privacy Senior Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience to lead sophisticated cyber incident matters and privacy issues. The role involves crisis management, client counseling, and cross-practice collaboration.

The position offers significant responsibility, mentorship of junior attorneys, and opportunities for business development within a premier litigation and trial team.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active Bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, breach response, incident investigations, crisis management, or related litigation.
• Background in information security, computer science, or related technical disciplines is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, drafting, client counseling, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise clients through cybersecurity incidents, data breach investigations, and incident response efforts.
• Counsel clients on privacy compliance, regulatory obligations, and emerging cybersecurity laws.
• Manage all phases of breach response, including forensic investigations, regulatory notifications, internal investigations, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise organizations on crisis management and legal issues arising from cyber incidents.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to provide comprehensive legal and business solutions.
• Mentor junior attorneys and play a significant role in client relationship management and business development initiatives.
