Job summary

Sentara Health seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise security technologies. You will focus on SSE, Zero Trust, and Zscaler while collaborating across network, cloud, identity, and endpoint security teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive automation, and escalate issues from architecture through production support, ensuring robust security postures across the environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience supporting SSE/SASE, Zero Trust, network security, cloud security or related enterprise security technologies.
• Strong experience with Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, ZDX, GRE/IPsec tunnels, SSL/TLS inspection, proxy/traffic forwarding, policy troubleshooting).
• Ability to lead complex security implementations and production troubleshooting from architecture/design through implementation and handoff.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex technical issues and drive root-cause resolution using evidence-based methods.
• Translate architectural direction into scalable security solutions while identifying risks and operational considerations.
• Lead cross-functional discussions across cybersecurity, network, cloud, identity, endpoint, and infrastructure teams.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, leadership, and vendors.
