Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer- Technical Lead to protect customer information systems and networks. The role is hands-on (about 75%) with technical leadership across the security team, working through DevSecOps life cycle and coordinating with peers to ensure secure architectures.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and security audits, plus a strong automation mindset and cloud skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience; active TS/SCI with polygraph
• Experience implementing and managing security technologies in production environments
• Strong leadership with hands-on engineering balance and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls and tools across enterprise systems and networks.
• Design, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain security technologies (firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM).
• Formulate systems and methodologies; respond to security events and assist in remediation of incidents.
• Participate in change management to ensure security compliance and avoid new vulnerabilities.
• Conduct routine vulnerability scanning and tracking remediation to closure.
• Provide technical leadership and sme support to security engineering team and coordinate with peer leads.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for cross-domain issues and mentor junior engineers.
