Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME in Tampa, FL, offering expert-level cybersecurity engineering, secure solution architecture, and integration support for complex, multi-vendor IT environments in support of U.S. Government and FMS missions.

The role requires translating security requirements into secure, scalable engineering solutions across enterprise networks, data centers, NOCs, SOCs/CSOCs, and cloud/hybrid infrastructure, with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Government, NATO, or FMS environments with complex security requirements.
• Hands-on engineering with SIEM, network security monitoring, firewalls, DLP, and vulnerability-management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior cybersecurity engineering SME for solution architecture, integration, and independent technical reviews.
• Translate requirements into implementable cybersecurity engineering specifications and test criteria.
• Support RMF, NIST, eMASS, ATO/ATC, FedRAMP activities with evidence-based engineering requirements.
• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, design plans, RTMs, risk registers, and test artifacts.
• Provide guidance during PDRs, CDRs, system acceptance testing, deployment, and sustainment.
