Job summary

Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to own the operational health of security domains, lead cross-team initiatives, and drive patterns across identity, cloud security, monitoring, and encryption. This hands-on role partners with Cloud Ops and Identity to deploy secure patterns and mentor junior engineers.

You will design, implement, and document control patterns, participate in audits, and push for IaC-based, repeatable security solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering with hands-on controls across identity, network, cloud, endpoint, and monitoring.
• Strong fundamentals in IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and centralized logging/monitoring.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) in a security role.
• Ability to produce architecture docs, runbooks, and decision records that hold up under audit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain tradeoffs across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health of one or two security domains and lead cross-team initiatives.
• Translate purchased tools into deployed, tuned security patterns used by Cloud Ops and Identity.
• Contribute as a senior voice in architecture and standards discussions.
