Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Senior-Level Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team onsite at NSWC Dahlgren, VA. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and a strong background in DoD cybersecurity policy, risk assessment, and system engineering for naval combat systems.

Responsibilities include developing cybersecurity requirements and guidance, leading groups to address threats, and communicating complex security concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years program specific security engineering experience with Navy afloat/tactical combat systems or ten (10) years general security engineering experience.
• IAT Level II or higher per DoD 8570.01 (or successor); privileged users require additional JPAS/IT level-1 requirements and OS/CE training within six months.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, military system specifications, DoD IA policies for land and afloat/tactical systems; ability to communicate clearly in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Develop cybersecurity requirements, policy standards, best practices, and guidance for combat systems.
• Conduct cybersecurity research, analysis and coordination for DoD cyber efforts across multiple classifications.
• Lead working groups to develop cybersecurity strategies against emerging threats.
• Analyze cybersecurity, intelligence and IT policy gaps for combat systems.
• Perform cybersecurity system engineering design, analysis and documentation for combat systems.
• Develop cybersecurity risk assessments and mitigation plans for combat systems.
• Develop or use MBSE models to perform cybersecurity analysis.
