Job summary
SpaceX is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Starshield) to develop and continuously test cyber defenses for the Starshield network. This hands-on role requires breadth across software and security, with a focus on rapid incident response and proactive vulnerability discovery.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in cybersecurity for production systems or 7+ years, plus the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/CSec or similar with 5+ years in production cybersecurity, or 7+ years in production cybersecurity.
- Experience implementing adversary detection and incident response systems.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
- Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance.
Responsibilities
- Be prepared for immediate response to active threats against our systems.
- Implement Starshield's cyber defense strategy and run red-team style exercises.
- Participate in vulnerability discovery and internal bug hunts using AI tools.
- Drive improvements in incident discovery and response with internal teams.
- Collaborate with engineers building security features and detection tools.
