Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Starshield) to lead defense of the Starshield network and its global operations. The role is hands-on, spanning software and security, with an emphasis on threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability discovery.

You will drive red-team exercises and collaborate with cross-functional teams to harden systems and defenses. Required are 5+ years in production cybersecurity or 7+ years, a BS in a relevant field, and the ability to obtain Top

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer security, or a similar field, and 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity for active production systems; OR 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity for active production systems.
• Experience in implementing systems for adversary detection and incident response.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for immediate response to active threats against our systems.
• Implement Starshield's cyber defense strategy and develop countermeasures.
• Run red-team style exercises to discover vulnerabilities and test response tactics.
• Participate in vulnerability discovery efforts and bug hunts across Starshield.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate security features and improve incident discovery tools.
