Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Starshield) to lead a team defending a global satellite network. The role will be hands-on across software and security, driving vulnerability discovery, incident response, and defense strategy for Starshield.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in cybersecurity on active production systems, with leadership experience and familiarity with adversary detection and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer security, or a similar field, with 7+ years of cybersecurity on active production systems, or 10+ years total experience.
• Experience leading a team of direct reports.
• Experience implementing systems for adversary detection and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers focused on immediate threat response.
• Implement Starshield cyber defense strategy and conduct red-team style exercises.
• Lead vulnerability discovery efforts and foster a culture of curiosity; utilize AI tools for finding and fixing bugs.
