Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III in a 100% distributed role across the United States. You will secure cloud workloads, automate RMF controls, and advance zero-trust implementations while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

A DoD Secret clearance is required, with strong hands-on security in cloud and container environments. You’ll contribute to incident response, security documentation, and security tooling, leveraging AI-augmented workflows to accelerate delivery and

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in cloud, cybersecurity, or platform engineering roles.
• Experience securing AWS GovCloud or Azure GCC High environments.
• Practical Kubernetes security and policy enforcement experience.
• Working knowledge of IaC tools and secure configurations.
• Bachelor’s in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Secure cloud-based environments across AWS and Azure.
• Automate control implementation and evidence collection per RMF.
• Provision and configure IT environments with Terraform/Ansible.
• Deploy and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption services.
• Apply container security best practices for production systems.
• Implement least-privilege access and cross-account roles.
• Create security documentation and runbooks.
• Support Zero Trust integration and RMF compliance.
• Collaborate with teams to embed security in pipelines.
