Job summary

Trace3 is seeking an Information System Security Engineer/Cybersecurity Engineer I to lead cybersecurity across complex DoD mission systems. The role focuses on RMF, system hardening, vulnerability management, and documentation to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO) in AWS environments.

You will translate technical risk for executives, collaborate with engineering, and ensure secure architectures in cloud and on‑premise settings.

Qualifications

3–5 years in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or information assurance.
Experience implementing RMF in regulated or classified environments.
Active certification meeting DoD 8570 / 8140 requirements (e.g., CISSP, CASP).
Strong understanding of network security, encryption, and secure configurations.
Ability to translate technical risks for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and secure architectures across cloud (AWS) and on‑premise networks.
Lead RMF activities: system categorization, control selection, implementation, monitoring.
Prepare SBPs, SARs, and POA&M; coordinate with Authorizing Officials.
Perform vulnerability assessments and drive remediation with engineering teams.
Advise on security changes, architecture decisions, and trade‑offs.
