Position Overview

AbbVie is seeking a talented Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Threat Intelligence team. This role focuses on designing, building, and automating components of our secrets discovery program. You will utilize your software development skills, cyber intelligence/response experience, and data analytics capabilities to discover, analyze, validate, and escalate exposed secrets internally and externally.

You will have the opportunity to develop this service creatively, including building custom applications to manage the secrets discovery lifecycle. Collaboration with stakeholders across security and technology teams will be essential to support sound decision-making through accurate and timely intelligence.

This position can be remote anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in:

• Development with Python, Go, Elixir, or similar languages
• Invoking and building custom APIs
• Curating intelligence sources
• Leveraging open-source intelligence
• Analyzing large data sets to support decision-making
• Understanding cyber security incident anatomy
• Current methodologies supporting secrets discovery

Applicants should have experience building and deploying applications in a production-like environment.

Educational and experience requirements include:

• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience, OR
• Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience, OR
• PhD with 2+ years of experience.

A solid understanding of cybersecurity principles related to authentication and network/application security is beneficial. Candidates should also demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills and experience communicating across organizational levels.
