Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Colorado is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to harden and defend classified enclaves, mission ground systems, and labs. You will drive RMF accreditation, develop SSPs and POA&Ms, and keep systems compliant through continuous monitoring while collaborating with program engineers.

The role demands hands-on security engineering across DoD/IC environments, scripting for automation, incident response, and mentoring junior staff. Onsite in secure spaces with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Direct experience implementing security controls on classified systems in DoD/IC.
• RMF control implementation, SSP and artifact development, POA&M remediation, and continuous monitoring.
• Hands-on depth in Linux/Windows hardening, network security, IAM/PKI, government cloud, SIEM/log analysis, vulnerability management tooling.
• Scripting proficiency (Python/PowerShell/Bash) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and harden security architectures across classified enclaves and lab environments.
• Drive RMF accreditation and maintain compliance through continuous monitoring.
• Defend the environment with vulnerability scanning, patch management, and log review.
• Respond to incidents; participate in on-call rotation and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Automate compliance and reporting with scripting and tooling.
