Job summary

Skyline Technology Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer in Glen Burnie, MD.

You will own broad security engineering initiatives, working across customer-facing and internal platforms to design, implement, and improve secure systems that protect critical services. The role emphasizes threat detection, vulnerability management, secure architecture input, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver durable security solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant (required) experience.
• Vendor certs such as CCNP Security, JNCIP-Sec, PCNSE, Splunk Architect, or equivalent (required).
• 4-year degree in Cybersecurity/CS/IT or related (preferred).
• Experience in system administration supporting multiple platforms (preferred).
• ISC2 CISSP (preferred).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.
• Proven ability to implement cybersecurity solutions.
• Strong network and system engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, expand, and modernize cybersecurity platforms (SIEM, EDR, NGFW, SOAR) to strengthen security posture.
• Develop and refine SIEM detection logic for anomalous activity and security events.
• Integrate security telemetry into observability platforms to improve visibility and data quality.
• Evaluate and test emerging cybersecurity capabilities to improve maturity and scalability.
• Review network security designs including IDS/IPS, firewalls, and content filtering.
• Maintain secure, reliable security infrastructure and support for stakeholders.
• Develop automated management capabilities for production servers to improve efficiency.
• Pursue relevant technical certifications and deepen cybersecurity expertise.
• Build understanding of Skyline’s services to apply security practices effectively.
