Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to define enterprise security strategy and lead architectural reviews across major technology platforms. You will embed security throughout the landscape and guide secure implementations with infra, cloud, data, AI, and application teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining artifacts, roadmaps, and governance while mentoring others. This role requires extensive healthcare security experience and the ability to influence executive stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and strong knowledge of business, information security, and/or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience, including at least 10 years in a healthcare environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in cybersecurity architecture at the enterprise scale, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience with the acquisition process, including vendor selection, defining requirements, and developing contractual documentation.
• Independent judgment, critical decision‑making, strong analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive enterprise security strategy and architecture roadmap for Banner Health.
• Embed security standards and reference architectures across major technology platforms.
• Evaluate designs and guide secure implementations with cross‑functional teams.
• Lead architectural reviews and identify risk mitigation approaches.
• Create architectural artifacts, models, and transition plans for strategic goals.
