We partner with cross-functional teams on special projects, ad-hoc investigations, legal and financial requests, as well as call center fraud prevention and provider fraud.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. while tackling some challenging issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure financial applications meet controls through regular audits, testing, and reporting.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams to enhance existing systems and recommend features for new systems to mitigate risks.
  3. Conduct training on investigative techniques, work effectively in teams, and collaborate on complex investigations.
  4. Monitor fraud trends and develop strategies, tools, and processes for effective fraud detection while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  5. Assess new and existing tools for fraud risk and propose mitigating controls.
  6. Partner with vendors, product teams, fraud operations, and technology teams to manage current controls and develop new ones.
  7. Track performance of fraud strategies and tools, and communicate findings to senior management.
  8. Analyze fraud trends to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  9. Serve as an escalation point and articulate higher-level vision and requirements.
  10. Work with stakeholders to prioritize and refine deliverables using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  11. Guide the development, testing, and refinement of fraud controls in an agile environment, and host training sessions on investigative techniques.
  12. Coordinate solutions across legal, risk, operations, UX, and technology teams to align with corporate strategy.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Undergraduate degree, or 3 years of security investigative experience, or 5 years of cyber security investigations experience.
  2. 2+ years experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch.
  3. 2+ years experience with Splunk and other Lucene technologies.
  4. 2+ years experience in troubleshooting complex multi-domain fraud investigations.
  5. 2+ years experience documenting and reporting findings in fraud investigations.
  6. 2+ years experience briefing leadership on investigative activities and incident reports.

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually, based on full-time employment, experience, education, certifications, and other factors. UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and a 401(k) plan, among other benefits, subject to eligibility.
