Principal Cybersecurity Analyst - Remote

This role involves partnership with cross-functional teams on special projects, investigations, legal and financial requests, and fraud prevention efforts. It offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure financial applications meet controls through audits, testing, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve systems and suggest new features to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct training on investigative techniques and collaborate on complex investigations.
  • Monitor fraud trends and develop strategies, tools, and processes for detection.
  • Assess tools and processes for fraud risk and recommend controls.
  • Partner with vendors, product teams, and operations to manage and develop fraud controls.
  • Track performance of fraud strategies and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Analyze root causes of fraud trends and propose solutions.
  • Serve as an escalation point and articulate the vision and requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize and refine deliverables using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Guide the development and testing of fraud controls in an agile environment and host training sessions.
  • Coordinate solutions across legal, risk, operations, UX, and technology teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or 5 years of security investigative experience.
  • SANS GLEG Law of Data Security and Investigations Certification or CISSP.
  • 3+ years experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch.
  • 3+ years experience with Splunk and Lucene technologies.
  • 3+ years troubleshooting complex multi-domain fraud investigations.
  • 3+ years documenting and reporting findings in investigations.
  • 3+ years briefing leadership on activities and reports.
  • 3+ years handling investigations and legal referrals.
  • Must be recognized as an expert witness in cybersecurity or fraud cases.
  • Adherence to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy for remote employees.

The salary range is $106,800 to $194,200 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors including experience and certifications. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock options, and 401k contributions.
