Job summary

AXA XL is seeking an Underwriter for the Cyber – Wholesale team in the U.S. market. The role focuses on managing a wholesale cyber book, growing the portfolio, and building broker relationships while applying rigorous underwriting and risk evaluation.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree, strong cyber risk understanding, and the ability to travel ~15% of the time. This is a full-time position reporting to the Underwriting Manager for the Cyber and Technology Group.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of cyber and technology risks, data security, privacy, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Proven success in managing broker relationships and driving business through distribution channels.
• The ability to travel a minimum of 15% of the time is anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse wholesale cyber insurance book, focusing on renewal and new business opportunities.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the wholesale cyber portfolio in alignment with AXA XL objectives.
• Analyze market trends, emerging cyber risks, and client needs to identify new product opportunities.
• Build and maintain outstanding relationships with wholesale brokers, agents, and distribution partners.
• Exercise underwriting expertise to evaluate risk, set terms, pricing, and collaborate with actuaries, claims, and product teams.
