Job summary

AXA XL in the United States is seeking a wholesale cyber underwriting professional to manage a diverse cyber insurance book, renewing and growing new business opportunities.

You will develop strategic plans, analyze market trends, and collaborate with brokers and distribution partners to deliver innovative risk solutions. Travel up to 15% is expected. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager for the Cyber and Technology Group.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Robust understanding of cyber/tech risks, data security, privacy, and related frameworks.
• Proven success in managing broker relationships and driving growth through distribution channels.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management & Growth: Manage a diverse wholesale cyber insurance book, renewing and growing new business.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the wholesale cyber portfolio in line with AXA XL objectives.
• Analyze market trends, emerging cyber risks, and client needs to identify new product opportunities and distribution channels.
• Broker & Distribution Channel Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers, agents, and distribution partners.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to brokers, providing expert underwriting guidance and risk insights.
• Conduct broker meetings, presentations, and negotiations to facilitate business development and portfolio growth.
• Educate brokers and clients on evolving cyber risks, coverage options, and best practices to foster understanding.
• Underwriting & Risk Evaluation: Evaluate complex cyber risks, review submissions, set terms and pricing, collaborate with actuaries, claims teams and other stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with underwriting, actuarial, claims, legal, and product teams; participate in conferences.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure underwriting activities adhere to guidelines; document risk assessments and underwriting decisions.
