Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer to advance software for national security missions. You will work on secure applications, messaging, and network systems, advancing research in cyberspace, vulnerability analysis, and multi-domain solutions.

You will design, test and sustain backend services in C++/Java 21+, with frontend interfaces, while collaborating with hardware and systems teams in a highly regulated, secure environment. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related professional experience or Master's with 6+ years.
• Current in-scope U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI clearance or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation; SAP clearance required.
• C++ and/or Java 21+ proficiency with backend service development and frontend interfaces.
• Experience with UDP/TCP networking and hybrid protocols; experience with messaging brokers.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to national security threats involving software, messaging systems, infrastructure, and vulnerability research.
• Design, develop, document, test and debug applications and systems with logical/mathematical solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers in planning, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
• Determine user needs; analyze system capabilities; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers/utility programs.
